INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
With a father working at IBM Computer Systems, I’ve always been surrounded by computers, ever since 1980. For me it all started with an Apple II from the United States. My childhood naturally leaned toward games on that computer, with a few small experiments in BASIC and learning multiplication tables using a program my father wrote. In the 1990s I began to take a deeper interest, especially after first encountering Red Hat Linux and discovering the wonders of networking. In 2000, with the boom of the Internet and LAN gaming, I co-founded the XLM Association with friends, where I developed deeper knowledge of networks and system administration in Linux and Windows environments. Driven by insatiable curiosity, I continue to learn and test the ongoing evolution of systems and networks, servers, software, and Internet-related topics.
Curiosity and the desire to seek technical answers or new challenges led me to learn, test, and use many pieces of software and servers across the environments I have worked in (Linux, Windows, and macOS). I have spent many hours—often alone and against the odds—figuring out how to reach my goals and ultimately succeed. The years within the XLM association were very formative; knowledge sharing among members and IT projects were decisive. Starting with hardware, I moved on to networking and then servers. I currently manage several dedicated Linux servers (IaaS), and have done so for more than 20 years, hosting, for personal and professional needs, mail servers (Main & MXs), web servers, web apps, and backups. I’m always happy to open an SSH terminal and type commands in a shell!

While developing my IT knowledge, I constantly tried to use it to automate and save time at work by creating scripts and developing line-of-business applications. Though not an expert, I always find a way to reach my goals—whether for projects required in my job (scripting for graphics software) or private needs such as installing home automation or aviation-related projects. Each success brings new knowledge, enabling future projects!

After studying advertising communication, I truly began working as a layout operator in the French Army in 1994 during my national service, initially assigned to the Inter-Armed Sports School (Bataillon de Joinville) communications office to work on publications for the French Army. Since that short period, Photoshop and desktop publishing (DTP) software have been my daily tools. With extensive experience in the print and digital publishing industry, I also worked as a freelancer, managing end-to-end projects with clients.

Management
At the beginning of my career, I mostly worked alone, addressing client needs and sometimes collaborating with a colleague. Later, I had to manage a growing team of graphic designers and designers, developing new team-management skills. With teams spread around the world, it became more demanding but also highly instructive and stimulating. I eventually joined the executive committee, where new responsibilities greatly enriched me both in management and in understanding company stakes. These rewarding experiences equipped me to finally create my own business.

Language Skills
English has always been a personal priority since high school. I cultivate it daily by reading books in English, practicing writing, and speaking regularly in professional and private contexts (remote management of a foreign team of graphic designers for 7 years, work with overseas subsidiaries and partners, frequent travel in Asia, the United States, and Europe). Aviation is also an excellent source of regular English practice.
Since marrying my South-Korean wife in 2005, Korean has been part of my environment and I mostly practice it during my yearly trips to South Korea. A significant portion of my company’s clients (LAFLANELLE) are Korean.
Experience
A long and versatile experience!
Naturally curious and persevering, my professional background has mainly been built around mastery of IT tools, largely in a graphics context but also operationally, notably implementing automated procedures and managing activities. After 10 years managing services and international teams at various levels of responsibility, I had the opportunity and desire to move into entrepreneurship and run my own company.

Education
My Background
Self-taught in many subjects, I followed a fairly standard educational path and obtained a BTS in Advertising Communication & Action. At the time, I didn’t really know where these disciplines would lead, having chosen them somewhat by default. As computers became widespread in advertising and the graphics industry, I found what I wanted and truly enjoyed doing: mastering computers and software to design and carry out creative tasks.
I’ve always been fascinated by manufacturing processes, especially those of modern printing. I felt the same excitement when I discovered the porcelain industry in Japan while working on a business-creation project in the field.
Being more of a technician at heart, it’s understanding how processes interlock to achieve results and putting them into practice that drives me. IT became my playground, and once my studies were finished, I trained myself in these subjects.
